I am an independent consultant for Close to my Heart and Scentsy.
Scrapbooking
I have a Master's Degree in Scrapbooking & Card Making.
This means that I have the knowledge to teach you how to:
scrapbook
create pages that are balanced
tell the story in a variety of ways
find your own style
use the tools, such as embossing guns
use different techniques, such as second generation kissing
create your own patterned paper
make beautiful one of a kind cards
create personalized gift items
I have always had a passion for "art", but I am not a Picasso or a Van Gogh
however, through scrapbooking and card making
I have found the perfect venue in which to express my creativity.
And I can help you find your creative niche.
I love scrapbooking because it combines family, history and art.
Scentsy
The sense of smell is a powerful memory trigger.
The smell of baby powder instantly reminds be of my children...newborn and gently wrapped in their blanket.
Other scents
like "skunk" instantly make me back away.
Certain scents are calming, like lavender;
others are refreshing, like lemon.
Scentsy has 80 fragrances
I love Scentsy because it is flameless and safer than traditional candles
I can have my scentsy warmer sitting right next to my paper products
and not worry about a fire.
Yet still be surrounded by the scent of lemongrass or the sea.
Scentsy is a beautiful addition to my creative space.

On a personal note:
I am a single parent, having lost my husband to a heart attack.
I have two sons in their twenties and a daughter who is just entering Jr. High.
I watched my Dad become an alcoholic and then slowly die of cancer at the age of 42.
I watched my Mom struggle to feed six kids and then slowly die from kidney failure at the age of 52.
I watched my Baba live as a widow for all my early life,
then remarry at 72, celebrate her 20th anniversary and then pass away at 99.
I watched our house burn to the ground when I was in grade 6.
I will watch my oldest son walk down the aisle with his true love in May of 2010.
I watched my seven year old daughter run out to field to stop our combines
because her Dad lay dead beside the auger.
I watched the sun come up the next morning.
I have learnt that every single life
has moments of joy and moments of sorrow.
Scrapbooking allows me to
capture these moments and preserve them
so my children and their children
will know and understand
the trials and triumphs we faced
and hopefully will gain the strength
to watch their sun come up the next morning.
